Upcoming Meetings for School Reconfiguration
Wednesday, February 24 6:30 p.m. MUR Parent Input Meeting
All current PV and PVA parents are invited to listen to planning team members describe the plans we have so far and offer any suggestions. I feel very confident and excited about the quality of the input we have received so far from parent representatives, however, this will give other parents a chance to become part of the process, too. The purpose of the meeting will be to refine and improve the plans as we are still in the process of developing them. It will be an interactive meeting in which school planners and staff are listening as well as talking. This will be the first opportunity for the parent groups of both schools to work together and begin the transition to consolidated parent groups.
Wednesday, March 3 6:30 p.m. MUR Parent Information Night
The purpose of the second meeting is to unveil the plans for the new magnet theme for all current and prospective parents. March is Open Enrollment month for elementary schools, and parents will be shopping for the school that they think will meet their child(ren)’s needs most effectively. The purpose of the Feb. 24 meeting is to build the program, and the purpose of this one is to sell it. We want to give parents a clearer sense of what to expect. Even though we will continue to fill in lots of details throughout the spring, we want key components to be in place so that parents can make informed decisions.
